Dahui Temple, commonly known as the Great Buddha Temple, is a Chinese Buddhist temple located at No. 11, DahuiSi Road, Haidian District, Beijing. Originally built in the eighth year of Zhengde (1513) of the Ming Dynasty, it was rebuilt in the 20th year of the Wanli Calendar (1592) and the 22nd year of the Qianlong Dynasty (1757) of the Qing Dynasty, and gradually abandoned after the Guangxu period, and the building was gradually annihilated to the point where only one Great Compassion Treasure Hall remained. In 2001, Dahui Temple was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Dahui Temple was built in the eighth year of Ming Zhengde (1513) by Zhang Xiong, then the eunuch of Si Li. Because there is a bronze statue of the Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes Guanyin Bodhisattva with a height of more than 10 meters in the Great Compassion Treasure Hall, it is also commonly known as the Great Buddha Temple. During the Jiajing period, the east side of the temple was built with the addition of the Yousheng Temple, and the Dahui Temple and the Yousheng Temple had a total of 183 houses, covering an area of 421 acres. Because Emperor Ming advocated Taoism, the eunuchs feared that The Great Hui Temple would be destroyed, so they built another Zhenwu Temple on the north side of the Great Hui Temple. In the 20th year of the Wanli Calendar (1592), Dahui Temple was rebuilt.

In the twenty-second year of the Qianlong Dynasty (1757), it was rebuilt again, and the scale and appearance remained basically unchanged. After the Guangxu period, the Dahui Temple gradually fell into ruin. In 1937, the statue of Guanyin in the temple disappeared, and then a wooden tire was resculted in the temple. When the People's Republic of China was founded, only the mountain gate, the front wall of the gate, the east-west side hall and a great compassion treasure hall remained, and since then due to disrepair, only the great compassion treasure hall remains, and the rest of the buildings are all annihilated.

In 1957, Dahui Temple was announced as a cultural relics protection unit in Beijing. On April 5, 1983, in order to arrange for students to practice surveying and mapping, a vocational high school introduced a power supply into the Great Compassion Treasure Hall of Dahui Temple, and hung the light bulb on the wooden fir, after which the surveyors left the main hall without turning off the power after work, and the long-term heat caused the wooden structure of the hall to catch fire. The fire caused some of the wood components and painted paintings to be damaged, which were later restored by the cultural relics department. Since 1999, the Haidian District Government has invested in the renovation of Dahui Temple. In 2001, Dahui Temple was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit, and in that year, Dahui Temple was overhauled, and some modern buildings around it were demolished. In 2011, the renovation project of Dahui Temple was approved by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage.

Dahui Temple and its Great Compassion Treasure Hall is the only remaining building in The Great Hui Temple, there are seven steps in front of the main hall, the overall surface of the hall is five rooms wide, three deep, the top is the top of the heavy eaves, and there are rhombus windows for lighting between the two eaves. Inside the hall, small colorful Buddhas are placed on the pillar plugs. On the front of the Ming Dynasty there is a wooden statue of a pastel buddha and two bodhisattvas.
