Dongyanshan Forest Recreation Area is located in Xiayun Village, Fuxing Township, Taoyuan County, the East Eye Mountain in the area is named after the big eyes that look from a distance and look to the east, it is the highest mountain in the district, with an altitude of 1,212 meters, about an hour to climb the east-eye mountain self-guided trail, and the mountain top has a wide view and can overlook the surrounding mountains.
The Dongyanshan Forest Recreation Area was an important forest farm in the north in the early days, so many remnants of early forestry have been preserved, and the results of forest restoration can also be seen in the artificial afforestation land of the mountains. In addition, Dongyan Mountain is rich in bird resources and is the best bird watching location in northern Taiwan, and the fossil footprints left over from 30 million years ago in the park are quite rare geological landscapes in the forest recreation area, so you must not miss it!
There are many common birds in this area, which is a good place for bird watching, common birds such as bamboo chicken, white-eared thrush, crown feather thrush, striped wing thrush, yellow-bellied glass bird, red-headed and so on. There are also many butterflies, mainly including: Taiwanese white butterfly, large striped phoenix butterfly and so on. There are many kinds of mammals in this area, mainly including: Taiwan macaque, white-nosed heart, mountain qiang, wild boar, long-maned goat, Taiwan hare, South China weasel, red-bellied squirrel, Taiwan striped squirrel, white-faced squirrel and so on. The climate in this area is mild, the summer is cool and pleasant, suitable for vacation and leisure, and the spring and autumn days are high and cool, which is the most suitable for mountaineering and hiking tourism.

Notes in the park:
1. Please follow the instructions and warning signs in the area, and pay attention to your own safety at any time.
2. Venomous snakes are frequent in this area, please avoid entering the grass and attacking snakes to prevent snake attacks.
3. Some areas of the district are wet, walking trails stepping stones, be careful of slippery.
4. There are many wildflowers in the four seasons in the area, and the bees are flying in groups to collect honey, please do not interfere; please do not apply perfume when entering the area to avoid attracting bees and butterflies, causing their own troubles.
5. Dongman Hiking Trail is a hiking trail, the road is narrow and rugged, if you do not prepare properly, please do not rush to avoid danger.
6. In order to prevent the spread of rabies, pets (mammals) are prohibited from entering the park.
Transportation Information:
By car: From Daxi to Fuxing, turn to the Fuxing War Preparedness Road, and then go through the material transportation road.
By car: Take the Taiqi passenger shuttle bus from Daxi to Baling, get off at Xiayunping, and walk for about 3 hours by following the pointer.
