The history of the ancient castle group in the Qin River Basin can be traced back to the turbulent period of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties in China, and most of the ancient castle groups have a strict defense system, with three lines of defense: villages, city towers and fort towers. The walls of the six-story fort are one meter thick, and the internal mills, mills, wells, granaries and other living and grain processing equipment, as well as defensive barriers, perforations, tunnels, and gunpowder are readily available.
At 7 o'clock in the morning we set off from Taiyuan, drove the highway for about 4 hours to Jincheng, from the Jinyang Expressway North Exit down the highway, we saw the sign of the Imperial City Xiangfu, with the signs, along the road a large area of greenery into the eyes, the mountain forest roadside planting trees lush, the road surface is clean and tidy, let people's mood can not help but be happy, about 2.5km after arriving at the Imperial City Xiangfu Scenic Area.
After parking the car, it was nearly 12:00 noon, and there were many special food shops near the Imperial City Xiangfu, and we looked for a small shop that looked more popular and ordered some local specialties for lunch.

The Imperial City Xiangfu is the former residence of Chen Tingjing, a scholar of the Qing Wenyuange University, the third grade of Shangshu Jia, the chief reader of the Kangxi Dictionary, and the lecturer of the 35th year feast of the Kangxi Emperor. Its buildings are in the position of the mountain, changing with the shape, the official houses and residences, the scales are lined up, the whole Xiangfu is very imposing, the area is also large.
The Imperial City Xiangfu complex is divided into inner and outer cities. The castle is built on a hill. The first to enter is the outer city, which was built in the Qing Dynasty and was built by Chen Tingjing after entering the army, close to the west side of the inner city.
Enter the gate and continue to walk inside, through the place where Chen Tingjing lives, you will arrive at the inner city of the Imperial City Xiangfu "Douzhuju", the inner city was built in the Ming Dynasty, built by Chen Tingjing's father, the city is mostly "bright three dark five" courtyard.
The inner city is more luxurious and magnificent than the outer city, with gray tiles on the roof, and a variety of arches, finches, pillar foundations, columns, columns, and windows under the eaves.
In the whole building complex, there is a tall and majestic building that is particularly eye-catching, that is, the Heshan Tower in the Imperial City Xiangfu, which means "heshan is confined", which is 7 stories high and has stairs between the floors. This height is naturally incomparable to the high-rise buildings in modern cities, but compared with the height and scale of buildings in the Ming and Qing dynasties, it has survived nearly four hundred years of ups and downs and can still stand, and its solidity and practicality can be imagined.
The design of the Heshan Building is full of wisdom: the windows are only available on the third floor of the building, and the stone gate into the fortress is suspended above the second floor, which is connected to the ground by a suspension bridge. When the ground floor goes deep underground, there are secret tunnels to facilitate the transfer and escape. When I actually saw it, I couldn't help but admire the ingenuity and superior wisdom of the ancients.

A few hundred meters away from the imperial city of Xiangfu, there is a quiet ancient castle, compared to the halo-shrouded Xiangfu, there is a kind of northern village unique tranquility and the vicissitudes of history after the smoke cloud, many buildings are dilapidated and collapsed, but in some details still can not hide its former beauty and splendor.
Coming out of the Imperial City Xiangfu, we walked to Guoyu Ancient Castle. Guo Yu jiancun in the Tang Dynasty, built the city Guo Yu Ming Dynasty, is a castle with an ancient history. Incredibly, in this small mountain village, the Ming and Qing dynasties produced a total of eighteen juju and fifteen jinshi, including the Chen family. Most of the Ming Dynasty houses in the village are well preserved, and the ancient city wall is magnificent, and the city fortress and enemy towers are densely packed on it, which is called "honeycomb city wall".
The seven-storey YuLou is the most admirable building in the village, located in the middle of the village, built in the thirteenth year of Ming Chongzhen, and is also a military defense building. There are underground tunnels on the ground floor of the Yu Building, which lead to the Thirteen courtyards of the Wang Family and the outside of the city. At present, the system is still well preserved.
Lingering in the charm of the ancient castle, unconsciously it has reached the time for dinner, thanks to the recommendation of a local guy, we found a particularly authentic Jincheng farmhouse restaurant near Xiangfu, cooking for two elderly people, warm and thoughtful, the meals are clean and affordable, and most importantly delicious. The night stay is also close to the local farm stay, the environment is good, the price is also quite good.
