Recently, the Sichuan Wolong National Nature Reserve Administration released a photo of a white giant panda with white hair and claws walking in a lush primeval forest. This is recorded by the field infrared trigger camera in the reserve.

According to expert analysis, this panda is an albino individual. Li Sheng, a researcher at the School of Life Sciences of Peking University, introduced that the phenomenon of "albinism" is widespread in various groups of vertebrates, but it is relatively rare, usually due to genetic mutations that cause the normal synthesis of melanin in animals, so that it is white, yellowish white or light yellow in external form. Usually there is no obvious impact on animal activity and reproduction.
