Recently, Russian star and former Arsenal player Andrei Arshavin confirmed that he is about to retire, and his current team Kailat will hold a farewell ceremony for him.
In an official statement, Kyrat said that this weekend will be Arshavin's last match, and fans with the name "Andrea" will be able to watch it for free and only need to present their ID to enter.
Born in May 1981, Arshavin, aged 37, rose to fame with Zenit, helping Zenit win the UEFA Cup in the 2007–08 season, including a two-legged 5–1 elimination of Bayern in the semi-finals before defeating Manchester United to win the European Super Cup. At Euro 2008, he shined, leading Russia to a 3-1 knockout of the Netherlands in the first round of the knockout round. In 2009, Arshavin moved to Arsenal, playing 144 games for the Gunners, scoring 31 goals.
After officially leaving Arsenal in 2013, Arshavin first returned to Zenit, then moved to Cuban and Kazakhstan side Kailat, and officially announced that he was hanging up his boots at Kailat. (End)
