Beijing News Express According to the Zhengzhou Intermediate People's Court, on November 30, 2018, the Intermediate People's Court of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, publicly pronounced a verdict on zhao Haiyan, former secretary of the municipal party committee of Sanmenxia City, Henan Province, for accepting bribes, and sentenced the defendant Zhao Haiyan to 11 years in prison and a fine of 1 million yuan for accepting bribes. The stolen funds seized in the case shall be confiscated and handed over to the State Treasury; The remaining stolen funds involved in the case will continue to be recovered and handed over to the State Treasury.

After trial, it was ascertained that from 2009 to 2016, defendant Zhao Haiyan successively took advantage of her position as vice mayor of jiaozuo municipality in Henan Province, mayor of Sanmenxia Municipal People's Government, and secretary of the Sanmenxia Municipal CPC Committee to provide assistance to relevant units and individuals in matters such as property rights transfer, production and operation, and project contracting, and solicited and illegally accepted property and property from others, equivalent to a total of 10.259996 million yuan.

The Zhengzhou Intermediate People's Court held that defendant Zhao Haiyan's conduct constituted the crime of accepting bribes, and there were circumstances of soliciting bribes, which should be punished according to law. In view of the fact that after Zhao Haiyan arrived at the case, he truthfully confessed his crime, and took the initiative to confess most of the facts of the crime of accepting bribes that the case-handling organs had not yet grasped; Admit guilt and repentance, actively return stolen goods, have already returned part of the stolen funds, and have statutory and discretionary mitigating circumstances, and may be given a lenient punishment in accordance with law.

The Tribunal accordingly rendered the above-mentioned judgment.
