Winchester Model 1887
John Browning's other masterpiece, the Winchester 1887, did not play an important role in any war. Instead, it's a favorite of sheriffs, cowboys, and outlaws. It wasn't very high for a five-rounder capacity, but when it first appeared, it could carry more bullets than any other shotgun. There are 10 lead diameter and 12 lead diameter versions.
The Winchester Model 1887 was developed for four years, but was discontinued in 1901 because it required a shotgun powerful enough to use smokeless powder cartridges.
Colt single-action Army revolver
The gun was originally a .45 caliber, although later several other calibers also appeared. When the gun first appeared, there were three different barrel lengths, each with a corresponding name. The shortest is the civilian version, also known as the gunfighter model, which has a 43/4-inch barrel. Next up was the artillery model with a 51/2-inch barrel. Finally, there was the Cavalry Standard, named after it was issued to the American Cavalry, which had a 71/2-inch barrel.
From 1873 to 1892, colt individual units became standard light weapons in the U.S. army. It was then reactivated during the Us-Philippines War, because the pistol that had chosen to replace it, the .38 Long Colt, did not have enough stagnation.

When Armalite first developed the AR-15, the letter "ar" stands for "armalite rifle" (not "assault rifle").
