At the same time, Liu Qiong also suggested that Guangdong Province should support and coordinate the State Railway Group to agree to the construction of the Ruimei Railway (Guangdong Section) in 2021, strengthen regional linkage, and drive the economic development of Meizhou.

Strengthen road repairs in rural areas

Since the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan", with the care and support of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, Meizhou City has effectively taken the construction of "four good rural roads" as the main starting point for rural revitalization, and has made every effort to promote the construction of rural roads and highway safety and life protection projects, and has achieved remarkable results.

By the end of 2020, the total mileage of rural roads in the city will reach 16,967 kilometers, the hardening of natural village roads with more than 200 people has been completed, all the sand and dirt roads of rural roads have been cleared, the rural road maintenance rate has reached 100%, and the paving rate has reached 100%.

Meizhou is a mountainous and agricultural city, and rural roads are related to the travel of many people, and it affects the transportation of agricultural products in Meizhou. "Many rural roads built in the early days of Meizhou have caused varying degrees of damage to the road surface due to the large amount of traffic travel and the sharp increase in the flow of people and vehicles, which has caused great inconvenience to the transportation of agricultural products and the travel of the masses." Liu Qiong said.

Strengthen the construction of interprovincial transportation and strengthen regional linkage

Meizhou is located in the north of Guangdong, bordering Ganzhou City in Jiangxi Province and Longyan City in Fujian Province, and the construction of railways is conducive to the coordinated development of the three cities in the Soviet District. "According to the national project plan, the Ruimei Railway will be built in the future, and after the completion of the railway, three cities will be strung together, and a new pattern of 'coordinated development of the Soviet Union' will be built." The Ruijin-Meizhou railway is a national "13th Five-Year Plan" project and a key preparatory project for Guangdong Province in 2020. The route plan starts from Ruijin City, Jiangxi Province, passes through Huichang County, Anyuan County, Xunwu County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, Pingyuan County, Meixian District, Meijiang District, Guangdong Province, and ends at Meizhou Station of Zhanglong Railway, with a total length of about 243.89 km and a total investment of about 16.793 billion yuan, of which the Guangdong section is about 76.9 km long and has an investment of about 6.072 billion yuan, and is planned to be built according to the technical standards of a single line (passenger and freight co-line) of 160 km / h.

Previously, Jiangxi Province and the State Railway Group reached a consensus on the construction of the Ruimei Railway Project. The State Railway Group said it would report the feasibility study report to the National Development and Reform Commission for approval and support the start of construction of the project in 2021.

At present, the pre-feasibility of the feasibility study and approval of the Ruimei Railway (Guangdong Section) has been completed, and the preliminary design work of the control project has been carried out in advance, with the conditions for starting construction in 2021.

Liu Qiong said that the provincial party committee and the provincial government will be invited to support and coordinate the State Railway Group to agree to the construction of the Ruimei Railway (Guangdong section) in 2021 to accelerate the pace of revitalization of the Soviet Union.
