"I was so happy that my hands were shaking, I felt that all my efforts had finally been recognized, and the award certificate that flew in made me understand what it was to be grateful, grateful for myself, teammates and teachers who had worked hard." This is the feeling of Deng Li, the first prize winner of the 2018 "Yuanye Cup" International Competition for College Students in the Course Design Category and a student of Sichuan Agricultural University, after winning the award.

The entry point of Deng Li and her team is "from the land - desertification control in Hulunbuir under the overall planned grazing landscape system", and the entry point of this topic comes from a proposition in the teacher's class, "elastic landscape". Around the elastic landscape, Deng Li and her team first carried out a profound interpretation of the relevant content, after fully understanding the connotation, essence and mechanism of action of the elastic landscape, they focused on natural disasters and environmental issues at home and abroad and even the world, after a lot of discussion and trade-offs, finally chose the topic of "desertification". China's desertification erosion and destruction of the places through many provinces and cities, through brainstorming thinking, finally determined the study area - Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia.

In order to solve the ecological and economic contradictions of the site and create a sustainable development model, they proposed the "holistic plan grazing" that best fits the resilient innovation of the grassland background. This is actually an act that simulates nature, reversing desertification with the most primitive activities carried by the site. Simulating nature is a return to nature, and the scheme contains a concept of returning to the source. Borrowing the gifts of the natural nature of the site, we can continue to have more vigorous vitality and ecological sustainability, thereby reversing desertification and achieving the most efficient ecological restoration of the entire site in the shortest possible time.

When talking about the competition process, Deng Li shared some feelings. She said a word, "stolen time", which she did not casually entertain, but used to study with all her heart. Perhaps because she is a design professional, she and her friends often have to face the situation of staying up late to think and pick up the lights to make pictures, but they enjoy that time, as if the whole world is asleep, and their home field has just been lit. "Inspiration is sometimes really encounterable and unattainable, and the night seems to be a good time for inspiration fireflies to haunt," Says Deng Li.

In Deng Li's view, the most worthwhile experience in program design is the derivation of thinking and the acquisition of solution strategies. She believes that artistic creation is a long-term undertaking that must be achieved with clear sensibility and rationality. Any good planning and design is based on scientific research, combined with rational analysis and rigorous logical thinking, through a large number of articles and knowledge input, there will be another village of inspiration output. Only the knowledge reserve and interest accumulation in the form of unlimited categories and forms can it be possible to obtain the key to future inspiration. Moreover, they have not been ashamed to "steal" other people's creative inspiration.

Deng Li believes that the International Competition of the Garden Ye Cup provides a platform for university students to exchange and share landscape, architecture and planning and design solutions, and also provides a place for designers who love planning and design to show their works and gain a sense of achievement. Trying and implementing something before it is decided is a necessary way to test whether you like it or not, whether it is worth it or not, the so-called practice is true knowledge, and the competition is one of the fastest shortcuts to make yourself aware.

When talking about the study, practice and future development of the garden profession, Deng Li believes that whether it is landscape design or plant research, it has never been a casual success. She never believed in "lazy freedom", but also believed in the "law of ten thousand hours". She wants to be a free and self-disciplined person, and the freedom she yearns for is to get a broader life through hard work and hard work.
