Yesterday (18th), the development project of the "Strivers" all-sea deep manned submersible was successfully concluded and successfully passed the comprehensive performance evaluation.

The performance evaluation expert group is composed of 8 technical experts and 3 financial experts in the domestic marine field. The meeting listened to the project team's self-evaluation report on the project performance, and after questioning and discussion, the expert group unanimously agreed that the project passed the comprehensive performance evaluation and fully affirmed the results achieved by the "Strivers" all-sea deep manned submersible developed by the project.

The Strivers all-sea deep manned submersible project passed the comprehensive performance evaluation

Li Huajun, head of the evaluation expert group, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering: This is the first time that the national key research and development project has begun to implement this evaluation mechanism, and the experts of the "Strivers" of this project have unanimously given a high evaluation, which should be said that we have another landmark achievement in marine equipment. The deepest part of our ocean, the Mariana Trench, is more than 11,000 meters, and our equipment can be explored and scientifically studied at the depth of the whole sea, and it should be said that our full sea depth operation capability has been greatly improved.

As the key core research and development task of the "13th Five-Year Plan" National Key R&D Plan "Deep-sea Key Technologies and Equipment", the "Strivers" completed the 10,000-meter sea test in November 2020, creating a Chinese manned deep diving record of 10,909 meters, reflecting China's comprehensive strength in the field of marine high technology.
