The story takes place in a distant ancient world, where people and demons live together, and there is never peace in the world. Wang Sheng (Fang Lishen) is an ordinary scholar, in the chaotic world, timid and cowardly personality, he only wants to be able to read with peace of mind and live in peace. One day, a mysterious woman named Xian Er (Zhou Xiuna) suddenly appeared in front of Wang Sheng, who although he did not know who Xian Er really was, was still deeply attracted by the charm emanating from her.
Since the appearance of Xian Er, there have been many bizarre murders in the city, and the victims have died because their hearts have been pulled out, and no one knows where these missing hearts have gone. The young girl Xiao Cui (played by Tan Lina) has a crush on Wang Sheng, and seeing that he is fascinated by Xian Er, Xiao Cui's heart is very unhappy.
