The 6th Member Congress of Taiyuan Elderly Calligraphers and Painters Association was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi

On June 26, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the 6th Member Congress of Taiyuan Elderly Calligraphers and Painters Association was held in the provincial city of Taiyuan. Nearly 80 leaders of Shanxi Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Association and directors of Taiyuan Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Association attended the conference.

Taiyuan Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Research Association was established in 1990, renamed as Taiyuan Elderly Calligraphers and Painters Association in October 2007, is a non-profit public welfare undertaking social mass organization, the association aims to enliven the cultural life of the elderly, through creation, research, exchange, exhibition and other activities, improve the level of calligraphy and painting art and prosper the motherland's calligraphy and painting industry.

The meeting was presided over by Zhao Haichuan, adviser to the Taiyuan Elderly Calligraphers and Painters Association, and first introduced the participants; Yan Quanbin, responsible person of the fifth council of the Taiyuan Elderly Calligraphers and Painters Association, made a work report; the meeting adopted the list of members of the sixth council; through a show of hands, Du Chengyuan was elected as the sixth chairman of the Taiyuan Elderly Calligraphers and Painters Association, Chen Kun, Cui Shuolong, Wang Yungang, Zhang Xiangzhou, Yang Shixing, Jin Liwen, and other 17 people served as vice chairmen, and the meeting also produced deputy secretaries-general and executive directors. Wang Yungang, the newly elected vice chairman, read a congratulatory speech; Yang Shixing, vice chairman, read a congratulatory speech on behalf of the chairman of the Wharton Group; Yan Wenkun, chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Association of Elderly Calligraphers and Painters, delivered a speech, in which he pointed out that the association should closely integrate with enterprises and organize multi-cultural exchange activities; the associations of elderly calligraphers and painters in various cities and relevant units and enterprises have sent congratulatory messages to congratulate the sixth presidium and directors.

Du Chengyuan, newly elected chairman of the Sixth Term, delivered a speech in which he said that in its future work, the Taiyuan Elderly Calligraphers and Painters Association should first improve its organizational structure so that the establishment of various districts and county organizations tends to be balanced; it is necessary to strengthen teaching and training and improve the overall creative level of its members; conscientiously implement the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Party, carry forward the traditional culture of the Chinese nation, learn Chinese characters well, and do a good job in Chinese.
