Get to know Tama Art University
Tama University of Fine Arts has a superior position among Japanese art universities, and together with Tokyo University of the Arts and Musashino University of Fine Arts, it is known as Japan's top art school. It is also part of the five major academies of fine arts in Tokyo, along with Musashino Art University, Tokyo University of Plastic Arts, Women's University of Fine Arts, and Nihon University Faculty of Art.

Tama University of Fine Arts was founded in 1935 with "freedom and willpower" as its educational philosophy, respecting the freedom and perseverance of the arts. Practice the creative research of art and design, and constantly explore the value and method of art education. Fully respect the personality and creativity of students, so that students can exert the maximum limit of their abilities.
With its main campuses in Hachioji and Ueno-Mao, it is now the largest art university in Japan.
Tama University of Fine Arts has close ties with China's Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Hongik University of Korea, Berlin University of the Arts, American Design Art Center College, and Siam University of Thailand as the agreement exchange schools. Every year, professors from these universities give exchange lectures, as well as exchange students with the agreement exchange schools for short-term study abroad and exhibition of works.

Naoto Fukasawa: A famous Japanese product designer, founder of the "±0" design brand for household appliances and daily necessities, he has won many awards including idea gold award, if gold award, "red dot" design award and many other awards.
Naoto Fukasawa's "unconscious design" has influenced many designers. He is currently the director of the Integrated Design Division at Tama Art University.
Takashi Akiyama: Japanese illustrator researcher and designer. Warsaw International Poster Biennale Gold Award, Mexico International Poster Biennale Honor Award, New York ADC International Exhibition Bronze Award and other international awards.
Takashi Akiyama is currently working at Tama University of Fine Arts , Department of Graphic Design. This major is one of the most highly contested and highly competitive disciplines at Tama Art University.
