Near the southern coast of China, you can often see groups of sea carp swimming on the surface of the sea, of which the more famous are the big-eyed sea carp, hawaiian sea carp, Atlantic sea carp, these kinds of sea carp are very explosive predatory fish.
Among them, the body length of the big-eyed sea carp is generally within 80 cm, and the most common size in the estuary area is between 20 and 60 cm. The Hawaiian Sea Lake can reach 120 cm in length and is often found in shallow sandy bottom estuaries and inner bays. The Atlantic Chain is the largest, with a body length of up to 2 meters and a weight of more than 75 kilograms, making it one of the main fishing targets in the Americas.

The most common in China is the big-eyed sea carp (that is, the great sea carp). Although the giant silver carp is huge, it is rare in the aquatic market, and it is one of the main aquaculture fish in the United States and India abroad, and the requirements for breeding conditions of this fish are not high, at pH 8.2, the water temperature can be cultivated at about 28 °C. In China, only the Hainan region currently has a certain amount of fishery production.
Greater sea carp are generally distributed in subtropical and tropical waters. The first historical report on the great silver carp was in 1846, when it was discovered in Guangzhou. In 1902, fishermen discovered the giant carp in Taiwan, and then again on Hainan Island in 1926. In 1999, traces of the great sea carp were also found in rivers in the interior of Taiwan.
Beginning in June 2006, staff at Shanghai Ocean University (then known as Shanghai Fisheries University, officially renamed Shanghai Ocean University in 2008) conducted four months of fixed-point monitoring at the mouth of the Yangtze River. The researchers set up 13 sampling sites along the Yangtze River estuary to investigate the diversity profile of juvenile fish in the Yangtze River estuary. As a result, milkfish were found in small trawls, as well as 40 sea silver carp and 144 large silver carp, indicating that there is a high probability of a natural spawning ground for large silver carp near the mouth of the Yangtze River, which is also the northernmost known spawning ground for large silver carp.
