The ovate medaka is a highly collectible and precious ornamental fish with rich color variations.
New varieties are discovered every year and commemorative stamps are issued.
Just collecting such photos can make people crazy.

Raising fish is not difficult compared to breeding fish and other tropical fish, just adjust the minimum environment to cooperate, anyone can raise it.
If you have 2 or 3 animals, I recommend that you use a 15×20×30 cm aquarium, and the 30 cm tank sold on the market has a very wide space.
Most of the sinks have access to heating, which is good. Having room temperature controlled equipment in the feeding room is ideal.
Depending on the type of fish, the normal temperature it is suitable for has a very subtle difference, and it is usually better to keep the temperature between 20 and 25C.
The lyretail medaka is more susceptible to illness due to its rough personality, and will not appear in front of the sink unless it is used to it.
The sinks are arranged as longitudinally as possible, and the back and sides are surrounded by dark colors such as blue and black.
The lighting does not have to be as bright as that of tropical fish in general, because of excessive lighting, medaka will be in danger of fading, and should be illuminated obliquely from the upper part of the front so that the light does not hit the innermost part of the aquatic grass.
Because of this faint light, the relative types of aquatic weeds that can be used are also limited, so it is possible to breed willow moss, Microsorium, water spirits, mud moss, etc. Aquatic grass is the standard for water quality maintenance and water quality management.
It can protect juvenile fish, and it can also help the female fish to use it as a hidden place when it is pursued by the male fish, if it is not planted with aquatic grass, and there is no running wood for the female fish to escape from the male fish.
Many females eventually die of physical weakness.
When aquatic plants grow luxuriantly, it is impossible to see the inside of the tank, although the beloved fish cannot be observed from time to time, but this has a calming effect on the fish and is very helpful for the maintenance of water quality.
When raising fish in still water, it is recommended that you do not use a filter.
However, if it is used, it is more suitable for sponge filtration or inward filter, etc., and when inflating, the air pressure should be reduced as much as possible.
The lyretail medaka grows almost all in small rivers and depressions in tropical rainforests, and its average water quality can be said to be quite close to distilled water, so it is quite difficult to maintain.
In other words, when raising fish such as Karasin, the same water quality is enough. Of course, whether it is tap water or well water, there are often many bacterial organisms such as filtered bacteria, so you can use stirred water.
In addition, the concentrated peat liquid sold on the market contains a thin brown color, and it would be better if it could be added to use. In addition, in order to protect the fish, about a tablespoon of salt is added to the 30 cm tank.
Because the raw fish will become weak in an environment with a sharp change in the soaking pressure, such as suddenly moving an individual raised in the original water containing many salt minerals to a tank with less mineral content, its personality will become impatient, and the worst case will be that the gills will be destroyed and die.
Conversely, if you move from less mineral water to more mineral water, this problem will hardly occur.
This permissible limit is not until 1/2 of the mineral content dissolved in water is reached, but it cannot be accurately measured without correct specific gravity calculation.
Freshly obtained fish, absolutely can not be arbitrarily put into the water, first of all, the water in the bag should be moved to the box with a plug, etc., and then slowly added to the sink of water, and then turned after the habit.
Because there are differences in how much bait is given during the water change period, the size of the filter, the conditions of the aquatic weeds, etc., it is not possible to generalize. Therefore, it is possible to adjust the state of the water in the range of 10 to 30% per week.
The resistance of oviparous medaka to pollution is very weak, so it is necessary to keep the water clean frequently; as for the remaining bait, excrement, etc., it is also necessary to remove it as much as possible.
In addition, adding substances such as minerals is helpful for residual bait, and if the bottom surface uses sand particles, it is easy to accumulate dirt, which is very inconvenient, so it is recommended that you do not use it.
For medaka, red worms are the most suitable bait.
Frozen red worms should be as fresh as possible, and should not be used if they change color. Usually feeding bait once a day is enough.
When breeding, it is 2 times in the morning and evening, and the amount given is better to the extent that there is no remaining bait.
The same is true of other oviparous medaka, non-1-year-old lyretail medaka, in the process of growing up, male or female fish: one side is more powerful, there will be a situation of exclusive bait.
At this time, the male and female fish should be placed in different tanks to raise, and the size should not be too different.
As for the superior breed, unless it is familiar with the new environment, it often does not completely eat the bait.
At this time, do not plan to give bait once, you should visit it every few moments, if the front of the sink shows its face, you have to give a smaller amount of bait than before, and then gradually increase the amount of bait.
