The treatment worked perfectly, and Albright's figure skating skills improved by leaps and bounds. As a teenager, Albright became one of the most famous figure skaters in the world at the time. However, just two weeks before the start of the Winter Olympics figure skating competition, Albright fell during a slide, and the ice knife in her left foot scratched the ankle of her right foot, with a deep bone wound. Usually in this case, Albright is certainly not able to participate in the Winter Olympics. But in order to allow his daughter to participate in the competition, Albright's father quickly arrived at the race, and he personally stitched up his daughter's wounds, which allowed Albright to participate in the competition as he wished.
Albright's wound was very painful during the short show competition, but her performance still conquered most of the judges and won the first place in the short show. The next day in the free skating competition, Albright beat the competition and still won the first place, thus becoming the first American female athlete in the history of the Winter Olympics to win a gold medal in figure skating.
