Beijing News (reporter Xu Qian) On November 5, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the "Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Carrying out the First Batch of Urban Renewal Pilot Work" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"), saying that on the basis of local recommendations, after selection, it was decided to carry out the first batch of urban renewal pilot work in 21 cities (districts) including Beijing.

According to the Notice, the first batch of pilots will start in November 2021 and last for a period of two years, focusing on three major tasks, including exploring the overall planning mechanism for urban renewal, exploring sustainable models for urban renewal, and exploring the establishment of urban renewal supporting systems and policies. It is reported that the first batch of urban renewal pilots include Beijing, Tangshan, Hohhot, Shenyang, Nanjing, Suzhou, Ningbo, Chuzhou, Tongling, Xiamen, Nanchang, Jingdezhen, Yantai, Weifang, Huangshi, Changsha, Chongqing Yuzhong District, Chongqing Jiulongpo District, Chengdu City, Xi'an City, Yinchuan City.

In this regard, Yan Yuejin, research director of the think tank center of E-House Research Institute, analyzed: "From the list of cities, it is mainly first- and second-tier cities, but also some third- and fourth-tier cities. The pilot is clear and explores the establishment of a sustainable implementation model of government guidance, market operation and public participation. At the same time, we will innovate land, planning, construction, landscaping, fire protection, real estate, industry, finance and taxation, finance and other related supporting policies. According to this, it can be considered that the urban renewal action of the first batch of such pilot cities will be accelerated in the near future, and the relevant supporting measures will continue to land. ”
