What are the famous buffalo breeds in China?
Buffalo is divided into Asian buffalo and African buffalo: Asian buffalo is divided into swamp buffalo and river buffalo, subspecies: Chinese buffalo account for 97.7% of the total number of buffalo in China, and both belong to the swamp type. Among them, the excellent breeds are Shanghai buffalo, Henan Xinyang buffalo, Subeibei sub-buffalo, Hunan Binhu buffalo, Sichuan Dechang buffalo and so on.
According to the distribution area, ecological conditions and body size, Chinese buffalo can be divided into the following groups.
(1) Coastal buffalo, mainly distributed in the suburbs of Shanghai on the coast of the East China Sea and the Yancheng area of Jiangsu, has strong service strength and good meat performance, such as Shanghai buffalo and Haizi buffalo, which are large buffaloes.
(2) Buffalo in the Lake District.
