During the interrogation, the two women were always reluctant to disclose their true identity information and refused to show valid identity documents and Buddhist documents. Due to other work arrangements, Director Hu Xiangsong arranged for the police in the station to be present and summoned the two women orally to the police station for further investigation.
At the Hengche police station, two "nuns" took out their own "refuge certificates", and after the police inspected and found many suspicious points, when they were ready for further verification, the two women suddenly panicked, and immediately "poured beans in bamboo tubes" to the police like "bamboo tubes" to tell the police that their "conversion certificates", the monks they were wearing and the Buddhist relics they were peddled were all bought at the roadside stalls in Zongyang County, Anhui Province, in order to sell Buddhist ornaments, and expressed their willingness to hand over Buddhist supplies and recently earned money, just to leave as soon as possible.
Police officers Hu Haifeng and Bai Xiangyun saw that the nuns were eager to leave, the situation was somewhat abnormal, and then thought of the many cases of impersonating nuns and monks in Puchun in recent years, speculating that these two fake nuns may be a bit "not simple", so they issued a co-investigation notice in the county bureau to see if there were any relevant cases in the near future.
Soon the police received feedback from the Qingshi police station, and on November 1, an 80-year-old man in Wangtianfa Village, Qingshi Town, was defrauded of 10,000 yuan by these two people. After receiving this news, police officers Li Ji and Hu Haifeng immediately interrogated the two women.
After investigation, the suspects Wu Moujie and Zuo Mou were from Zongyang County, Anhui Province, and specially selected the rural areas as the place of crime, and the elderly as the target of the crime, and carried out deception in the name of turning the fate and eliminating disasters. At about 9:00 a.m. on November 1, the two sneaked to the eighth group of Wangtianba Village in Qingshi Town, under the pretext of helping the victim's family transfer, and asked the victim to pack 9,600 yuan in cash in a yellow bag and lock it in a wooden cabinet. In the process, the two suspects cooperated with each other, exchanging the empty yellow bag containing cash with the empty yellow bag prepared in advance, and instructing the victim to take out the yellow bag after seven days. After leaving, the two suspects remitted the stolen money to their bank accounts.
At present, the case is still under further investigation.
According to Article 41 of the Regulations on Religious Affairs amended by the State Council on June 14, 2017, non-religious groups, non-religious schools, non-religious activity sites, and non-designated temporary activity sites must not organize or hold religious activities, and must not accept religious donations; Article 57 stipulates that religious groups, religious schools, and religious activity sites may accept donations from citizens in accordance with religious customs, but must not force or apportion. In other words, even regular Buddhist ordained monks are not allowed to make local connections outside the place of religious activity. If a citizen encounters a monk or nun in a public place, a home, or other non-religious place, he or she violates this regulation, regardless of whether his identity is true or false.
In addition, the Buddhist Association also has relevant explicit regulations that do not allow monks or even lay people to become friends in society. This is not only contrary to religious doctrine, but also detrimental to the reputation of religion. Therefore, 100 percent of those who have amassed wealth in the outside world are false monks and nuns and real liars, and the broad masses of the people should not be deceived.
