My story with Chinese

Source: People's Daily Overseas Edition

When I was a child, I went to Beijing with my mother who was studying. In those years, the snack shops in the hutongs were my food paradise. Many weekends, I skateboarded and played basketball with my friends, and all my good friends met in middle school.

After my mother finished her doctoral studies, I returned to Mongolia with her, missing my days in China and realizing that China had become my second hometown. In this hometown, I never interrupted Chinese study, and when I went to college, I still chose to major in Chinese language and literature. "Chinese Bridge" is the touchstone of my Chinese learning, but also the bridge connecting my two hometowns, during the competition with everyone to talk about Chinese, talk about China, I have a sense of long-term reunion. I hope that one day, I can become a connection between the two hometowns and contribute to the friendship between China and Mongolia.

As a representative of African players, I bring the dreams and hopes of many African compatriots who love Chinese to show the world the charm of Africa on the stage of the "Chinese Bridge" World Collegiate Chinese Competition Global Finals.

I love Chinese, and those super interesting proverbs and idioms not only teach me the truth of life, but also cultivate my interesting temperament. Therefore, Chinese not only broadened my horizons, but also gave me more opportunities to step into the world.

Participating in the "Chinese Bridge" competition this year, in the continuous study, let me understand the Chinese virtues, but also let me understand the meaning of "spring silkworm to the end of the dead silk, wax torch into gray tears and dry" commonly used when praising the teacher's selfless dedication, let me feel the cloud friendship of "confidant in the sea, if the end of the world is next to each other". Chinese is the bridge, the world is one.

Kung Fu pays off, and this sentence has a very important position in my heart.

When I was in Yantai, I made great efforts to learn Chinese, learn Lu cuisine with the old lady of the neighborhood, and also seriously danced square dance with her, and had fun in it. On the surface, I look very dashing and like to chat, but in fact, I feel unconfident when I talk about Chinese in front of strangers. When I first came to the "Chinese Bridge" arena, every time I opened my mouth to say Chinese, I felt that I had surpassed myself. People from all over the world talked about Chinese culture, shared the joys and surprises brought by learning Chinese, and made me feel that the "Chinese Bridge" was the Chinese Olympiad in my mind. Until now, I still have a little hard time believing that I can realize my dream of participating in the "Chinese Bridge" finals. It is really kung fu that pays off, and those who have aspirations will succeed.

"Distinguished guests, teachers, contestants, hello everyone, welcome to the Russian 'Chinese Bridge' competition, this competition will be hosted by me for you, I will announce the official start." These few lines made me bond with "Chinese Bridge".

A few years ago, I was invited to host the "Chinese Bridge" competition in our city, which is my unique memory. At that time, I was still a middle school student, and it was also my first close contact with the "Chinese Bridge", I always thought that all the competitions in this world are only about winning and losing, until I came into contact with the "Chinese Bridge" and realized that the competition can also be a bridge connecting the world. Fortunately, I finally stood on this stage on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of "Chinese Bridge", and no matter what the result of the competition, I will continue to learn and love Chinese.
