This product is a ginseng of the Tateshina family. Of dried rhizomes. When the stems and leaves will wilt in early spring or autumn, they are dug up, removed from sediment, dried in the sun, and removed from the roots.

Perennial herb, 35–90 cm tall.
The rhizome is thick, curved, and the outer skin is purple-brown. The stem is erect, single, glabrous.
The basal leaves have long stalks; the leaves are leathery, oblong lanceolate or lanceolate, 10–20 cm long and 2–6 cm wide, with a long tapering apex, a blunt or truncated base and sometimes heart-shaped, extending into a wing along the petiole, rolling outwards at the edges, slightly hairy on both sides, gradually falling off in old age, and the lower mask is reticulated;
The stems and leaves are alternate, the upward stalk is gradually shortened to the holding stem, the leaf sheath is barrel-shaped, membranous, 2-5 cm long.
The inflorescence is spike-like, cylindrical, erect or slightly curved, 3-6 cm long; the small flowers are dense, the bracts are ovate, membranous, the peduncle is slender; the flowers are reddish or white, about 2.5 mm in diameter, the flowers are deeply lobed, lobed oval; the stamens are 8, nearly equal in length or slightly longer than the flower indumentum;
Flower to 3. The fruit is triangular and oval, reddish-brown, shiny, and enclosed in a cuneiform quilt.
The flowering period is from June to September, and the fruit period is from September to November.
