Dendrobium phalaenopsis , named after its flowers resemblance to phalaenopsis , is one of two major taxa of the fall dendrobium ( the other being the antelope horn twisted petals , whose upper part of the flower has two side petals that rise upwards and twist into a twist shape).

Morphological characteristics: Perennial epiphytic herb, a hybrid. The inflorescence is apical, with 4 to 12 flowers, upright or slightly curved, 30 cm to 40 cm long; flower diameter 5 cm to 6 cm, white, rose red, pink, purple and other colors; the flowers are waxy and long-lived. It is the most important cut flower species in the orchid family. Native to New Guinea to Australia, it is now widely cultivated in the tropics.

Flowering is generally in the dry season from March to July; But sometimes it's grown commercially all year round. The flowers are in a total inflorescence 200-400 mm long, usually lilac violet, but can be blue or white, and sometimes not even pink white spots with dark purple lip flaps.
