This "Teaching Hair Wei" is the first kung fu film work starring Fan Shaohuang. The film's fight scene design is excellent, bringing together a large number of powerful stars such as Dillon, Wang Yu, Qian Xiaohao, Hu Huizhong, Chen Huimin and so on.
Fan Shaohuang opened his own kung fu film acting path because of this "Teaching Hair Wei". But Dillon, because of the film, went to layoff and unemployment. In order to attract the audience, Shaw director Sun Zhong, imitating the Japanese sword film "Wolf with a Belt", designed a story of a chivalrous guest with a young child and a journey through the rivers and lakes.
At the same time, director Sun Zhong also combined many Western elements with kung fu films. So on the big screen of the Hong Kong film in 1985, this "Teaching Hair Wei" appeared.
And 13-year-old Fan Shaohuang also played the role of the male protagonist's son "Tong Xiaofeng" in this "Teaching Hair Wei".

After the ban ended, Jin buchang thought that the business of the Qinglou would resume as before.

In 1985, "Teaching Hair" was released in Hong Kong and only received more than 1.1 million Hong Kong dollars.
The fact that the box office performance is so dismal is on the one hand the reason for the decline of the market, and on the other hand, it is also related to the production of the film itself.
In the first half of this "Teaching Hair Wei", director Sun Zhong designed a lot of comedy bridges, obviously intending to make the film into a kung fu comedy. It's only in the second half that the story design suddenly becomes tragic. The sudden change in the style of the story before and after also caused the film to suffer a lot of controversy.
Of course, the main reason for the cold box office of "Teaching Hair" is the decline of the kung fu film market in the mid-80s.
Because of the decline of the market, Shaw Films chose to close in the mid-80s. After this "Teaching Hair" film, Dillon was fired by Shaw, thus ending his "Shaw film" era. After 1986's "North and South Shaolin", Shaw Film also chose to discontinue production.
The once brilliant "Shaw Film" also came to an end at this time.
