In March 1960, Wang Jinxi led the 1205 drilling team from Yumen to Daqing. In order to solve the shortage of water supply, he led the workers to break the ice to fetch water, and the "basin end bucket lift" transported water to protect the drill. When he suddenly blew out while hitting the second well, he took the lead in jumping into the cement slurry pool and stirring it with his body, despite his leg injury. After the hard work of the whole team, the drilling rig and the oil well were finally saved.
