The head plate and the first dorsal plate are golden yellow, with 1 pair of raw antennae, 17 segments, and 6 segments of less hair at the base. There are 4 pairs of monocular eyes; the ventral surface of the head has 1 pair of jaw limbs with a poisonous hook; there is a 1-distance protrusion on the inside of the bottom segment of the jaw limb, with 4 small teeth on the top, and there are also 5 small teeth at the front of the tooth plate of the jaw limb. The body is dark green from the 2nd back plate and the end plate is yellowish brown. The dorsal plate has 2 insignificant longitudinal grooves from 2 to 19 sections, the dorsal plate of the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 17th, and 19th sections is shorter; the web and the limbs are pale yellow, the foot limbs are 2 pairs, the foot ends are black, and the tip is claw-like; the base lateral plate of the end pair of appendages has 2 pointed spines, and the ventral lateral surface of the front leg segments of the same limb has 2 spines, the medial side has 1 spine, and the dorsal medial side has 1 to 3 spines. It inhabits damp and shady places; carnivorous.

The chemical composition contains two toxic components similar to bee venom, namely histamine-like substances and hemolytic proteins; it also contains fatty oils, cholesterol, and formic acid. Δ-hydroxylysine has been isolated; amino acids include histidine, arginine, ornithine, lysine, glycine, alanine, valine, leucine, phenylalanine, serine, taurine, glutamic acid.
The blood protein of the same animal, Scolopendra morsitans L., is distinguished by five distinctions during electrophoresis, the first distinguished by human-like serum albumin, the second distinguished as α1-globulin, the third distinguished as α2-globulin, the fourth distinguished as γ-globulin, and the five distinguished proteins, which are different from humans; and their blood does not contain fibrin metamorphoid substances, so it cannot coagulate.
Pharmacological effect (1) antitumor effect

Clinical application (1) for the treatment of tuberculosis

(4) Treatment of submandibular lymphadenitis
Take 2 dried centipedes and fry in 3 times, 1 dose per day. It usually heals in 3 to 4 days. Treatment of 6 cases, all of which were effective. This drug has a good effect on acute and early stages; in chronic or advanced purulent patients, it can control its spread and accelerate localization, and has the effect of eliminating pain and swelling.
(5) Treatment of osteomyelitis
Take the dried powder of centipede, put 0.5 grams into capsules or tablets and take it internally, 1 gram each time, 3 times a day, halved for children; at the same time, apply vaseline yarn strip mixing powder to the fistula once a day. 28 cases of chronic osteomyelitis were treated, 3 cases were cured, and 25 cases were improved; 1 case of acute osteomyelitis was treated and the condition improved. This medicine has anti-inflammatory effects on acute and chronic osteomyelitis, promotes the regeneration of bone envelopes, and heals fistulas. However, it is necessary to take the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, timely incision and discharge of pus in the acute stage, and removal of dead bones in the chronic stage, so as to improve the efficacy and shorten the course of treatment.
(6) Treatment of paronychia

(7) Treatment of burns
Take a number of live centipedes and soak them in sesame oil for half a month. The oil is soaked in the centipede surface.
