National Development and Reform Commission: The tight diesel supply situation in some regions of China has been effectively alleviated

Beijing, October 31 (China News Service) -- The reporter learned from China's National Development and Reform Commission on the 31st that in view of the tight diesel supply in some parts of China, the state organized oil companies to increase supply, which has effectively alleviated the tight diesel supply situation.

According to reports, since September, due to the continuous rise in oil prices in the international market, coupled with the peak season of China's traditional consumption, the supply of diesel resources in some regions is tight, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration have organized and coordinated the two major oil companies of PetroChina and Sinopec to take measures to increase the supply of refined oil products.

Among them, PetroChina has tried every means to increase the diesel market by increasing crude oil imports, increasing the load of refineries, adjusting the product structure, stopping the export of refined oil products, and digging up potential and reducing inventories.

Ren Lixin, deputy general manager of China National Petroleum Corporation, said that in October, PetroChina imported crude oil increased by 10% year-on-year, diesel supply increased by 23% year-on-year, and increased by 28.6% in the third quarter. The next step will be to strengthen the import organization of crude oil, further optimize and adjust the product structure, and continue to increase the injection of diesel in the domestic market.

Sinopec refineries have started construction at full capacity and have made every effort to increase diesel supply by adjusting production processes and other means. Diesel supply in September and October increased by nearly 20% month-on-month for two consecutive months, and the supply in November and December is expected to increase by nearly 50% compared with the average supply in January-August.

Ling Yiqun, deputy general manager of Sinopec Corporation, said that its sales link gives priority to ensuring retail, people's livelihood and end users, increasing the investment of resources in areas where supply and demand are tight, and ensuring that the gas station is not out of stock and continuously supplied. At present, Sinopec gas stations have fully liberalized sales. At present, the tight supply and demand of diesel in some areas is short-term, and it is expected that the situation will soon improve.
