The source is the tuber of the Lydangaceae plant Clostridium. When the seedlings are sprouted in early summer, they are dug up and dried in the sun.
It is a parasitic herb in its original form, 15 to 30 cm tall, and the whole plant is glabrous. The tubers are nearly spherical. The stem is fleshy, single, cylindrical, brown. The scaled leaves are mostly arranged in a tile-like arrangement, triangular ovate, blunt at the apex, 1 to 1.8 cm long. Panicle-like inflorescence, half the length of the stem or longer; flowers without small bracts, nearly stemless, calyx-shaped, with irregular lobes5; Corolla 2 lip-shaped, 1.5 to 2 cm long, the lower lip is far short, with inconspicuous 3-tooth fissures, stamens protruding outside the corolla; heart skin 3. The capsules are ovoid and 3 lobes.
