According to foreign media reports, as early as February this year, the former chairman and CEO, 65-year-old Eric Schmidt, stepped down as a technical consultant and completely left Alphabet (Google's parent company) and Google.

Schmidt was once Google's most important power figure, a first-class professional manager hired by Google founder sergey Brin and Larry Page.

According to his resume, Schmidt parachuted into Google from the CEO of software company Novell in 2001 as CEO, stepped down in 2011, and retired from the company's board of directors in 2019, serving for nearly 20 years. Although the technical adviser is nominally retained, the remuneration is only a symbolic $1, so leaving seems to be just a formality.

Foreign media commented that during Schmidt's tenure, he completed Google's transformation from a simple search giant to an Internet technology company, and his prediction of artificial intelligence and smart phones was also praised. But no one is perfect, and Schmidt's approach to privacy has often been criticized, saying he once said "there's nothing to hide." In addition, Schmidt's layout of Google TV has almost failed.

Regarding Schmidt's next stop, there is news related to military science and technology, and there are reports that Schmidt is too close to the Pentagon, and it is still controversial.
