Film and television dramas related to "life and death issues" are actually not very common. First, it is taboo, second, it is not pleasing, and third, if it is made into a fantasy type, it is bound to spend more money on special effects. All the creators will be very careful in this field.
In Korean dramas, although there have always been many supernatural fantasy genres, it is really not much to say that it is necessary to focus on the issue of life and death and spend time dealing with the pain of the living. SBS's "Pain Doctor Che Yaohan" (2019, Chi Sheng, Li Shirong, Li Kuijiong) is one of them, talking about the dignity of life and the right to choose death from a medical point of view; tvN's "Lonely and Brilliant God" (2016, Kong Liu, Li Dongxu, Jin Gaoyin, Liu Renna, Lu Xingcai) is a fantasy packaging of poignant love stories, with life and death issues.
This time, it was the turn of "only you can't think of it, no they can't do it" OCN shot, originally thought they would take the right attack method, but did not expect to turn a big turn.
Released at the end of August in the weekend classic, "Missing: They Existed" was directed by "Touch" director Min Yanhong and "Witch's Love" screenwriter Pan Qili. Featuring "A Village Where the Souls of the Missing and Dead" is the main scene, it tells a suspenseful fantasy story that searches for the missing body and explores the truth behind the events.
In terms of actors, there are Gao Xiu, Xu Junhao, An Zhaoxi, Ha Jun, Xu Enxiu, Song Jianxi and others. Overall, this is not a very strong lineup, but at least it can be called a name. However, only four episodes have been broadcast to hang two of them, will there be a protagonist to take the box lunch in the back? Honestly a little worried.
The story begins with Jin Xu (played by Gao Xiu), who specializes in fraud work, and he is not a criminal, but an underground hero who helps the victims of fraud to seek justice and specializes in attacking scammers. Lee Jong-ah (played by Ahn Joo-hee), who works as a civil servant during the day and turns into a white-hat hacker at night, is his right-hand man. In the end, this is not really a bright industry, but Jin Xu and his gang are still righteous.
Jin Xu was unprovokedly involved in a kidnapping case and was also hunted down by a criminal group. After escaping into a mountain village, he found that this Duwen Village was actually the village of the ghosts of the missing people in the series. Zhang Panxi (played by Xu Junhao), the only living person in the village, has been silently guarding the place for ten years, helping the undead to find the remains, but their last wishes in the sun are not fulfilled.
When the plot comes here, it is inevitable that people will be reminiscent of last year's "Druna Hotel" - ordinary people can't see and can't go in, and the dead who stay are all unfulfilled and can't enter Huangquan, so they have to be assisted by President Zhang Full Moon (played by IU) and Manager Gu Canxing (played by Lu Zhenjiu) to help them complete their wishes and send them on the last journey. However, "Missing: They Existed" does not make the story so pretentious, and the dead in Duwen Village do not have to wear special makeup, but live in the village like ordinary people.
Here is a number, which is what the leading poster A says: In the past ten years, 80,000 people in South Korea have disappeared silently every year, which means that on average, more than 200 people are lost every day.
"Where did these people go?" Is it possible that they are still wandering somewhere, waiting to be discovered by us? With such doubts, I wrote this story with a pen. "I have regret, curiosity and reluctance about these people who have disappeared from our society. Their lives and deaths are uncertain, and their voices need to be heard. I wish more people would be willing to help find them, because someone misses them earnestly."
Screenwriter Pan Qili spoke emotionally at the press conference.
After the first two episodes have been set in the background, and the protagonist Jin Wook has completed the first task of helping the undead — helping the little boy who has been separated from his mother to return to his mother (which is also his own wish for many years) - the plot begins to take a sharp turn (or straight up?). )。 Kim Wook finds the kidnapped woman Choi Eun Na (played by Seo Eun-so) in Du Wen Village, who is here, representing that she has been killed; the criminal police officer who tracks down Choi Eun Na's whereabouts, Shin Joon-ho (played by Ha Joon), turns out to be her fiancé.
Here I would like to praise the art and post-production of "Missing: They Existed". The whole tone of du wen village in the picture is bright but not dazzling, plump but not too colorful, which is very different from the stiff and cold painting style of the outside world, clearly indicating the concept of "this is a halfway shelter to hades". The deceased in the village are supposed to live in their own era, so each scene will have a different decoration style; the "Hawaiian Café" at the entrance of the village is classical European, and the owner Thomas (played by Song Jianxi) is dressed in the style of the first half of the twentieth century.
In order to avoid excessive spoilers, the introduction of the plot is stopped here. It is recommended that everyone watch this play with a relaxed and pleasant mood (and enough paper towels).
