In the spring of March, the sun shines on the lake, and more than 100 cormorants play freely in the Wetland of Zhanyi Haifeng in Yunnan, sometimes flying low, sometimes diving into the water to feed, and sometimes drying feathers on the rocks, bringing life to the calm lake. Cormorant is a national secondary key protected wild animal, belongs to the pelican family, commonly known as osprey, also called water crow, is a large fish-eating game bird, strong and long, cone-shaped, sharp hook at the front end, suitable for pecking fish, good at diving, feathers are wet after diving, need to open their wings to dry in the sun before flying. They often inhabit rivers, lakes, ponds, reservoirs and swamps in small groups. In recent years, the Zhanyi Haifeng Management and Conservation Bureau has organized staff to increase monitoring and protection, and carried out protection work within the Haifeng wetland by means of patrol control and multi-party publicity, which is rich in water and grass and has become an ideal habitat and breeding ground for cormorants and other birds.
