Freshwater Fish Introduction Series (6) Bluefish

author:Nanning Fisherman

China is rich in land and resources, and there are many creatures of different forms growing. However, for us anglers, the wide variety of fish information is of course of great interest to us. What is the difference between fish across the country? How to distinguish many similar fish? The main thing is how to catch these fish? In view of these problems, I summarized my many years of fishing experience combined with the exchange of information of the majority of anglers, and published the relevant knowledge of these problems one after another, hoping to provide some help to the majority of fishing friends.

Freshwater Fish Introduction Series (6) Bluefish

The protagonist we introduce today can be said to be the target fish that many anglers dream of, and it is also one of the largest species of freshwater fish in China, which is the bluefish. Blue fish, scientific name screw green, some places also call it black carp. It is a vertebrate of the cyprinid order and carp family, which is distributed throughout the country, of which there are more lakes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and along the river, and it is one of the "four big fish" (green, silver carp, grass and bighead carp) in Freshwater aquaculture in China. Bluefish is a large fish, adult fish individuals 10-30 pounds, the largest individual up to 200 pounds or more, for anglers, blue fish is the standard giant, the dream target.

So how should the bluefish be caught? Let's first understand some of its habits. Bluefish prefer to inhabit the lower and middle waters, foraging all day long, and have a territorial awareness of the waters where food is abundant. So if we want to catch a bluefish, we must first find its territory (common waters where bluefish are flooded). Or just make a nest directly, attract the bluefish to the territory that forms it and then fish with half the effort.

There are two common methods of catching bluefish nests, one is to use a large number of screws to make nests, using the nest formed by the cluster of screws to attract bluefish to linger for food for a long time, and then catch bluefish. The other is to use a large number of coarse grains such as corn grains to make nests to attract bluefish and achieve the purpose of catching. Both methods have advantages and disadvantages, and the bluefish caught using screws are often relatively large, and the disadvantage is that the squatting time is longer. The use of coarse grains to make nests can also take into account other fish in addition to bluefish, the disadvantage is that it needs to be replenished frequently and the cost is higher. So no matter which way you use, you need more nest materials, and you need better patience to wait to have a harvest.

Then, in addition to the high-cost heavy nest squatting, is there no way to catch bluefish? In fact, there are, but it is necessary to change the traditional concept of using bait. Below I introduce two relatively low-cost ways to catch bluefish, both of which have been tested in actual combat, and the effect is not worse than that of heavy nest squatting.

First, look at the water hyacinth (rape flower) fishing method. First tie the whole water hyacinth to a large stone and sink it into the bottom of the fishing spot (the water depth of more than 3 meters offshore is better than 20 meters), and the same is true for rapeseed, and it is best to operate the day before fishing. Take a hook from the root of the water hyacinth with a tender white belt root whisker for fishing, and the rape takes the section with the main stem with leaves. It is recommended to use a sea rod above 6.0 for throwing fishing, which can also take care of grass carp.

Let's take a look at the crab fishing method, catch some freshwater crabs, and buy some if you really can't catch them. Choose a few lighter colors to keep for later, and all the others are knocked out and thrown to the fishing spot to play the nest. Take advantage of the unique fishy smell of dead crabs to attract bluefish, and use light-colored live crabs as bait hooks for fishing. Note that it is fishing floating, so it is necessary to float Awa with relatively large buoyancy, it is best to be about 10 cm from the bottom, and the crab should pay attention to maintaining activity. The crab fishing method is suitable for fishing spots such as cages, bridge piers, boat fishing, etc. that are easy to grasp the exact location. Crab fishing can take into account catfish, carp, and all of them are large individuals.

Maybe some anglers will feel that these are crooked and dismissive. However, I confirm that the above methods are all accumulated experience, tested in actual combat and achieved results. So don't rush to spray me, because you haven't tried to never know the truth.
