Snow owl - a beloved white owl. The snow owl (61 cm long, national second-class protected animal), named because its whole body is almost snow white, is a very characteristic owl. Snowy Owls are diurnal birds that hunt during the day. It's one of my favorite animals! As far as owls are concerned, they are very rare, so it has always been my dream to see this white owl in the wild. They catch our eye with their beautiful white feathers and long wings!
I went to search for some information about snowy owls and listed some interesting facts about snowy owls below.

Distribution/Location: Snow is mainly distributed in the cold northern regions of Canada. Outside of North America, snow may also inhabit the Arctic tundra of Greenland, Scandinavia and Russia.
During the winter, cold weather forces owls south, where they are found migrating in southern Canada and even the northern states of the United States. Although snowy owls are often migratory birds, they are one of the few birds that can withstand the harsh winters of the Arctic tundra.
Appearance: The white snow owl owl is one of the largest owls. Snowy owls are covered with bright white feathers, which helps them blend into the Arctic. The feathers completely cover the area around the owl's mouth including the paws.
Snow-white snowy owls have bright yellow and round eyes that can quickly spot prey even at height. Interestingly, snowy owls have smaller eyes than other species of owls. It may be that snowy owls usually hunt during the day, rather than at night, as most owls do. Another useful feature of catching prey is the snow owl's beak, which is small and pointed at the ends. The strength of the beak is important because it allows the snowy owl to quickly kill its prey.

Male Snowy Owl: Male snowy owl differs only in a few ways. The main difference is that males are a little whiter and have fewer brown/gray stripes and spots on their feathers.

Female Snowy Owl: Females and males are again very similar; however, female snowy owls are significantly larger than male snowy owls. On average, female snowy owls weigh about 4 pounds and have a wingspan of 52 inches.
Snowy owl hunting lemmings
Food: The Snow owl is a bird of prey that eats only the animals it hunts, and it does not sweep like many other carnivorous birds. Snowy owls mainly eat lemmings (up to 5 per day!). Sometimes they hunt other small animals such as voles, Arctic hares, and even small birds.
This is the snowy owl's main food, lemmings
I found that lemming populations in the Arctic tundra were linked to the migration of snowy owls. If there are enough lemmings in this habitat in the tundra to allow owls to survive the winter in the tundra, they are likely to remain in this habitat for the whole year.
Habitat: The Snowy Owl is located in the barren areas of the Arctic tundra. They seem to prefer expansive land to mountainous areas, especially during the breeding season.
Mating: As with most snowy owls live, lemmings are an important part of courtship. When a male wants to mate with a female owl, he must bring many lemmings to the female snowy owl, and if the female snowy owl agrees, they will mate, or they will reject the male snow owl, a bit like our wedding dowry.

Nesting: During the breeding season, snowy owls can lay up to 9 eggs. They nest on open tundra. To protect their eggs, snowy owls tend to nest in recesses in the ground or around chicks. Snow owls are fierce, and they will defend their nests to the death, attacking anything that is dangerous to their nests.

Predators: Despite their great power and ferocious attacks, snow owls still have predators, mainly wolves and arctic foxes. Fortunately, snow owls are effectively defended, and they can fly into the air, but their little snow owls may not be able to keep them.
Migration: Snowy owls are one of the few birds that can survive arctic winters; however, they can also migrate if winter temperatures are too high, lemmings are missing, or there are many new small snowy owl owls during the breeding season.
