Xie Xidan and her husband Chen Yu are both uremia patients, and in August 2018, Xie Xidan successfully underwent a kidney transplant with the help of social enthusiasts. In July 2019, the couple, who could no longer afford the cost of their husband's kidney transplant, launched an online fundraising campaign and raised a total of 200,000 yuan. However, Chen Yu was infected after surgery and unfortunately passed away. The grieving Xie Xidan, in the case that he needed to take medicine for a long time and the economic conditions were not abundant, donated all the remaining 120,000 yuan to the society and passed on the love.

In 2013, at the age of 23, Xie Xidan was diagnosed with uremia and has since had to rely on dialysis to survive. In January 2018, Xie Xidan married Chen Yu, who is also a uremia patient. In August of the same year, with the help of enthusiastic people in the society, Xie Xidan raised enough money for the operation and the kidney transplant was successful. On July 3, 2019, in order to allow Chen Yu to undergo kidney transplantation, Xie Xidan and his wife had to initiate fundraising on the online platform, raising a total of 200,000 yuan for treatment. On July 14, 2019, Chen Yu underwent kidney replacement surgery, but after the operation, he became infected and unfortunately passed away.
After the death of her husband, Xie Xidan endured grief and decided to donate all the 200,000 yuan raised on the online platform to treat her husband's illness, except for the 80,000 yuan that had been used during the operation, and the remaining 120,000 yuan was donated back to the society.
Xie Xidan relied on the charitable organization in Chaozhou City to confirm a group of patients with financial difficulties as the recipients of donations, and followed the staff to visit and comfort them. Among them, 20,000 yuan was donated to Lu Mou, a patient with uremia in distress; 30,000 yuan was donated to Liu Mou, a resident of Jingmei Village in Jiangdong Town with leg disabilities and poor living difficulties; 40,000 yuan was donated to 4 patients; and the remaining 30,000 yuan was used to help other people in need in society through charitable organizations.

As a kidney transplanter, Xie Xidan needs to take medicine for a long time, life is not rich, and she is still renting a house, but she has always been optimistic and enthusiastic about public welfare, and she actively participates in charity performances and public welfare activities to bring sunshine and warmth to the people around her. In 2015, Xie Xidan voluntarily registered as an organ donation volunteer.
