The Science and Technology Commissioner instructs growers to do a good job in pea disease and pest control

author:Peace Cote Station

Peas are long-day vegetables. Peas are drought-tolerant and not wet-tolerant, and are easy to rot when they are low temperature and high humidity after sowing, and are prone to root rot if they are poorly drained during the growth period. The flowering and fruiting pods require more water. Dry flowering and poor pollination are prone to rotting. To this end, the Kote station of Heping Town recently sent a special trip to the field to introduce several common pea diseases and pests to large growers. (1) The main pest Pea elephant feeds on bean grains with larvae and moths the pea into holes, which has a great impact on yield and quality. The larvae of mice are 4.5–5.0 mm long, short and fat, wrinkled, slightly curved, curved in a "C"-shaped, milky white. The head is black with short antennae. The thoracic foot degenerates into small protrusions and is incapacitated. Control method: it can be smoked with aluminum phosphide agent, usually before the adult insect feathering in mid-to-late July. The method is to dry the beans first, put them into a container, fill them to 70% or 80% full, cover a piece of paper on the surface of the beans, put the aluminum phosphide tablets on the paper, seal them for 72 hours, and the dosage is 2-3 tablets per cubic meter. You can also use the method of boiling water scalding seeds, that is, the beans are placed in boiling water for 30 seconds, and then placed in cold water to cool down, and then spread out to dry. (2) The main disease 1, what is brown spot disease. The leaf spots are rounded, pale brown to dark brown, with distinct edges. The supratar spots are oval or hammer-shaped depressions. The spots on the pods are round and dark brown to dark brown. Small black dots are produced on the spots at all sites; the bacteria overwinter on seeds and remnants and spread through wind and rain. High temperature and high humidity are prone to occur. The prevention and control method selects disease-resistant varieties. Rotation, spray 70% methyl tolbuzin 1000 times liquid or 75% bacillus 500-800 times liquid at the beginning of the disease, spray once every 7-10 days, spray 2-3 times. 2. What is powdery mildew. For the harmful leaves, stems and pods, the diseased part grows white powdery mold spots, which are enlarged throughout the leaf surface, and small black particles are scattered on the later spots. Prevention and control methods: at the beginning of the disease, use 50% daisen ammonium 1000 times liquid, or 40% dan 600 ~ 800 times liquid, spray once every 7-10 days, spray 2-3 times.
