Xin'an Evening News Anhui Network Dawan News On July 11, a villager in Jinlong Village, Xikou Town, Xuanzhou District, Xuancheng City, found a "strange-shaped" turtle around the house. It was then sent to the Natural Resources and Planning Institute (Forestry Station) of Xikou Town for identification, and later identified as a flat-breasted turtle by Professor Zhang Baowei of Anhui University.

Flat-breasted turtles are flat-breasted turtles of the family Flat-breasted Turtle family, flat-breasted turtles, and wild flat-breasted turtles belong to the national second-level protected wild animals. The body is flattened and the head is large and cannot be retracted into the shell. The back of the head is covered with a complete shield, and the upper and lower jaws are curved in the shape of an eagle's beak, hence the name hawk-billed turtle. Flat-breasted turtles mainly live in mountainous and clear streams, and mainly prey on snails, earthworms, small fish, snails, shrimps, frogs and so on in the wild. Thanks to the good ecological environment in southern Anhui, flat-breasted turtles have been found many times in Xuancheng City in recent years.
After a day of careful rearing observation, the turtle is in good condition. On July 13, the Natural Resources and Planning Institute (Forestry Station) of Xikou Town, Xuanzhou District, and the relevant staff of the Forest Police Detachment of the Xuancheng City Public Security Bureau jointly brought the flat-breasted turtle to its native habitat for release.
