The Shura of the Late Han Dynasty Buddha

author:Bub's Adventures

At first, Tao Rong served under Mu Taoqian of Xuzhou, who appointed Himong as the Minister of State of Xia Pi (in present-day Pizhou, Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province) (equivalent to The Taishou of The County), and was responsible for transporting grain from Guangling County (in present-day Jiangdu, Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province), Xia Pi Commandery (in present-day Pizhou, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province), and Pengcheng County (present-day Tongshan, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province) to Donghai County, and after receiving grain and tribute items from these three counties, he did not send it to Tan County, but instead used it for his own purposes.

After having these, he asked the people of Xia Pi County to recite Buddhist scriptures day and night at the Guangxing Buddhist Temple in Xia Pi County, which caused monks, nuns and Buddhists from nearby counties to move into Xia Pi County, with more than 5,000 households. Every time on the birthday of the Buddha (the eighth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar), the "Buddha Bathing Meeting" is held, and the cost of setting up a wine feast on the side of the road alone is calculated in hundreds of millions. [1] In 193 (the fourth year of Chuping), Cao Cao attacked Xuzhou, and the whole territory of Xuzhou was like a bird with a frightened bow, and Jing Rong led more than 10,000 men and women under his command to the south of Guangling County. Zhao Yu, the governor of Guangling County, honored Him as a guest of honor and hosted a grand banquet for Him and his soldiers and subordinates. When He saw Guangling County's Wufu Minfeng, he couldn't help but be moved. Therefore, at a banquet, during a toast, he beheaded Zhao Yu and ordered his soldiers to kill and burn and plunder Guangling County, and took his soldiers and subordinates and plundered the property of Guangling County south to Moling (present-day Jiangning District, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province) and surrendered to Xue Li.

Xue Li was originally Tao Qian's chancellor of pengcheng, but after being persecuted by Tao Qian, Xue Li had to flee to Moling with his subordinates; Xue Li, like Zhao Yu, set up a banquet to entertain Xiao Rong, but Xue Rong also killed Xue Li, annexed Xue Li's subordinates, and then defected to Liu Li, the assassin of Yangzhou. In 195 (the second year of Xingping), Liu Xuan, the governor of Yuzhang County appointed by Liu Xuan (豫章郡) appointed by Liu Xuan (豫章郡) appointed by Liu Xuan (豫章郡) (豫章郡 is now in Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province), attacked Zhuge Xuan, the governor of Yuzhang County appointed by Liu Biao of Jingzhou; Xu Shao said to Liu Xuan: "This person has never cared what others say about him; Zhu Hao's personality is loyal and honest, he is easy to push his heart and trust others, and he must instruct Zhu Hao to strictly guard against Him! Liu Xuan did not believe Xu Shao's words.

After Arriving at Yuzhang County, He killed Zhu Hao by killing Zhao Yu and Xue Li, and became the governor of Yuzhang County himself. When Liu Xuan learned of this, he was greatly angered and led his troops to attack Jingrong, and Qirong's subordinates collapsed. Ji Rong fled to the mountains and was killed by the people of the mountains and Shan Yue, and offered the first rank of Jing Rong to Liu Xuan.

In this way, he believed in Buddhism for four years (193), and spent a huge amount of money to build a floating temple in Xia Pi. The floating temple is built in the south of Xia Pi Cheng, there is a tower in the temple, there is a gold plate on the top, there is a heavy building under it, the tower is a nine-story octagonal, each floor has cornices, each side is inlaid with copper, and there is also a copper mirror on the top of the tower, called the "Nine Mirror Tower". It is said that more than 3,000 people can be accommodated around the pavilion to read Buddhist scriptures in its interior, and the Buddha statues are coated with gold and draped in brocade robes. Whenever I go to the Buddha Bathing Meeting, we set up seats on the side of the road for tens of miles, and put wine and food for people to eat. As many as 10,000 people came to visit and worship the Buddha. It can be seen that the luxury of the paving at that time, the grandeur of the scene, and the majesty of the momentum were rarely seen in the world.

It was also stipulated that all believers who accepted Buddhism were exempt from the tax of servitude. This initiative was also officially adopted by later generations to support the development of Buddhism. Because of his support for Buddhism, Herong is even considered by some scholars to be the first to spread Buddhism to the Nanjing area. And his high-profile Buddhist activities have also made the area an important Buddhist town

Buddhism was introduced from the Eastern Han Dynasty and developed to a certain extent by the time of the Three Kingdoms at the end of the Han Dynasty. Judging from the historical data, Eastern Wu is the worst. Sun Quan asked Zhi Qian to take the deep meaning of the scriptures, worship as a doctor, and Ling and Wei Zhao and others to tutor the Eastern Palace (see Volume XIII of the Collected Records of the Three Treasures). Remember, when I traveled in Suzhou, there was a Pagoda of Bao'en Temple, which was built by Sun Quan for his mother.

When Cao Zhi, the king of Cao Wei Chen Si, was traveling to Yushan (in present-day Dong'a County, Shandong Province), he heard the sound of Heavenly Music Brahma in the air, which was wonderful, profound in meaning, and deeply understood, so he recorded its syllables, combined with the "Prince Ruiying Benqi Sutra", wrote a text and made a sound, and composed the "Ode to the Prince" and "Ode to the Bodhisattva", which became the beginning of the production of The Sanskrit of the Han song.

There is no record at the level of the Shu Han regime, but from the excavated cultural relics, there are already sacred tree Buddha statues, which are unique burial items in southwest tombs, the sacred trees first appeared in the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, from the Eastern Han To the Shu Han, there are about 22 sacred trees and 69 statues of Buddha. It is likely that the local area has become popular. What is more interesting is that according to archaeological findings, Buddha statues have been unearthed in the ancient Shu kingdom, which is earlier than ancient India. (。 > ∀ < 。 )
