Others: Widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific warm water region, north from southern Japan, south to the Philippines, Australia, east and west from Fiji via Sri Lanka, East Africa, the Red Sea, to South Africa and other places. China can be found in Taiwan's Penghu, Hong Kong, Hainan Island, and the Paracel Islands. It lives in the shallow seas of the tropical and sub-belts, in the intertidal zone to the rocky bottom and coral reef area at a depth of 30 meters, after the tide recedes, it disappears under the reef rocks, between the gaps in the coral reefs and in the caves, slow movement, afraid of strong light, lurking under coral caves or rocks during the day, going out to forage at dawn or dusk, and is a carnivorous species. They use their tongues to prey on sponges, foraminifera, algae, corals, and small crustaceans.
