Diving students who often mix in the sea around Shenzhen, must have seen this treasure snail, Shenzhen sea area is very much, usually called it baby snail, what is the specific variety we will not be too deeply investigated, of course, including me.
A few days ago, students who had diving also photographed this snail in Hong Kong and sent a circle of friends. Ha ha! Of course, Hong Kong has it, in fact, Shenzhen and Hong Kong are not the same sea area? But what intrigued me was that this classmate identified him as an Arabian conch, which I vaguely thought was not right. Because I've always known it's an Asian snail. Under the verification of many parties, it turns out that the Arabian Treasure Conch and the Asian Treasure Conch have so many grudges and hatreds, including Du Niang are full of old mistakes (at least the picture is wrong), and consulting shell collectors, they can recognize that it is the Asian Treasure Conch in a second, and they can also say something so, but ....

Scientific name: Asian Baoluo (English name I will not write, I big heaven this little creature old write the English name everyone can not see Dong, why bother!) I'm not going to be deep here. )
The bottom of the Asian snail
Characteristics of Du Niang said: the overall long cylindrical shape, the shell surface is light brown or gray-brown, there are irregular white spots, longitudinal and intermittent dotted patterns, and the sides are densely covered with brown spots.
The conch at the bottom of the sea
I myself observed the characteristics: brownish gray with gray and white spots, with longitudinal fine brown discrete stripes, and black or brown spots on the sides.
Another photo of an Asian snail
Live Asian snails have a sleeve film protective shell, and all of their shells are beautiful
"The Asian snail was once considered a subspecies of the Arabian snail, but it is now defined as another species.' But their grievance is that they are so similar that it is difficult for ordinary students to distinguish. Some veterans of the shell collecting community believe that there are at least four subspecies of the Arabian snail, and the Asian snail is one of them.... Annoyed baby, my great heavenly biological world is at this level? Both of these things have caused us so much confusion, and there is no authoritative information to check....
(Below: It is an Arabic treasure snail illustrated book provided by shell Tibetan friends, this snail is also called Avin silk shell or pig snail, what is the difference?) You can compare and observe. )
