The beak is yellow with red spots on the lower beak; the young have a black beak. Feet pink. Inhabited by coastal areas: overhanging rocks, beaches on offshore islands. Often in pairs or in small groups. It is mainly fish-eating, shrimp, crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic vertebrates and invertebrates.
