To realize the beautiful ideal, we must be single-minded rather than half-hearted, and persist instead of giving up halfway. So, when a thing has not yet developed out of control, do not give up. Whether a life can overcome bad luck and create miracles depends on whether you give it the power of faith.
As long as you persist, there will be gains.
In life, many people with goals and ideals, they work, they struggle, they think with their hearts, they pray... But because the process was too difficult, they became more and more tired and discouraged, and finally gave up halfway. Later, they will find that if they can hold on a little longer, if they can look forward, there will be results. Many successful people, the only difference between them and the losers, is often not the harder work, or the smarter brains, but just the moment they stick with it for a moment – sometimes a year, sometimes a day.
Julio has sold more than 1 billion albums in six languages around the world, earning him the Diamond Record Award from the founder of Guinness World Records. In Europe, Julio has been the top star of pop songs for five years, and the French Evening News praised him as the first singer in the 80s. Opera star Placido Domingo commented on the passionate Spanish singer in his 40s who sang romantic folk songs: "Julio has achieved what every singer dreams of, singing both ancient and popular songs. He touched the hearts of all the audience. ”
If Julio had no confidence, no courage, no steely perseverance, he might just be an obscure disabled person today. Curiously, his success was caused by a car accident.
In September 1963, just before Julio's 20th birthday, he and three friends drove along the suburban road to their home in Madrid. It was past midnight. Out of the pranks of the young man, he drove at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour and reached a sharp turn. The car suddenly slid to the side and a ribbed bucket tumbled into the field. It is doubtful that no one was seriously injured at the time. After a while, Julio felt a tingling pain in his chest and waist, accompanied by difficulty breathing and trembling. Neurosurgery experts diagnosed a problem with the spine, and Julio was paralyzed. He was taken to paraplegic hospital. A spinal examination revealed a benign tumor in the seventh vertebrae of his back, which was subsequently surgically removed. But Julio's inability to move from his waist down after his return was really frustrating: julio might regain a little mobility after a few years, but progress was slow and the exercise exhausted him. Julio is sometimes desperate. A nurse learned of the situation and gave him a cheap guitar. He began to wander aimlessly. He found that this casual play eliminated his annoyance and boredom. This casual gameplay caused him to hum and then try to sing a few words. To his delight, his voice was not bad.
Four months after the operation, Julio stood on the floor, holding the handrail of his own staircase with his hand, and struggled to get upstairs, which left him breathless. But he finally took the first steps towards recovery.
His goal each day is to take one step more than the day before. In order to strengthen the exercise of other parts of the body, he climbed the hall non-stop for four or five hours. In his family's summer house, he could walk slowly and laboriously along the beach on crutches, and every morning he would exhaustively swim in the Mediterranean for three or four hours. That fall, he walked on crutches instead. After a few months, he threw his cane aside and walked slowly 10 kilometers a day.
In 1968, he graduated from law school and planned to join the diplomatic corps. At the time, music was just a pastime, and Julio was inspired by a long and lonely recovery period. He finally wrote his first song, "Life Goes As Usual."
Although he hesitated, he finally agreed to sing the song at the Benedictine Festival, the most important annual pop music competition in Spain. In that competition, Julio won the first prize. The song swept the country and became the title of a Spanish film. The film is based on his experience fighting paralysis. He starred in the film and became a movie star.
As a worldwide musician, there was a long process of public acceptance of him. In the process of conquering Latin American audiences with his singing, he first conquers the villagers and lets them know who Julio is. When he was in Panama in 1971, penniless, he camped on a park bench. In this case, he had no doubt that a better tomorrow was beckoning to him. The recovery of his body made him determined not to give up on any dream.
In 1972, Song to Galicia ended the dark days. The beat folk rhythm of this song has made it popular throughout Europe and South America.
Soon after, he released other popular songs. In 1974, his album Manuela made him the first Spanish singer to win a Gold Disc Award in France.
Once, after a concert at the Mad Platte in Argentina, a couple gave Julio a diamond ring to express their gratitude, because it was the tenderness and eagerness in his music that brought them back together when they were about to break up.
In Julio's 1981 autobiography Between Heaven and Hell, he described the breakdown of his marriage as painful as paralysis. He experienced failure and fell into the abyss of despair. He has to make a superhuman effort to face the audience. He felt like his leg was broken again, but a psychiatrist told him he had a brain problem: "You should devote yourself to your career as you used to." One doctor advised, "Go ahead with what you've already started — don't stop until you reach the top."
With this encouragement, Julio felt much better. Since then, he has followed the doctor's instructions and never forgotten the self-treatment of 20 years ago: every day is one step more than yesterday.
In 1978, Julio signed a long-term contract with CBS Records. He worked tirelessly and spent six months recording. He sang first in Spanish and then in French, Italian, Portuguese and German. At the same time, he had to spend some time recording his first album in English.
Although he is a language genius, it is also frustrating to record for 7 hours in multiple languages. He was surprised by the pronunciation of the words "I love you." Even if you sing in Spanish, you can spend more than an hour practicing it repeatedly while recording, and don't stop until you reach the point where you think you can enjoy beauty.
Julio looks back on the dark days of paralysis and finds that there is a lot to be thankful for. He said, "All my musical achievements come from that pain." Julio Iglessis, who is now healthy, happy and famous, proved his motto with his first song "Life Goes As Usual": People always have a reason to live, there is always a reason to struggle!
"The future is bright, the road is tortuous." This is a common saying. This is also true. You can't see a rainbow without experiencing wind and rain. The road ahead will not be smooth all the way, but as long as the direction is right, as long as there is perseverance and persistence, we must continue to move forward. Only in this way can we create our own miracles!
In the face of difficulties, we must stick to our inner beliefs and never give up easily. As long as you persist, you will reap the rewards! Abandonment is bound to lead to utter failure. Without giving up, we will always find a solution.
