The stage is located in and around the Cat Shi Polytechnic University in Chiba Prefecture (ねこみ) City. In addition, the place name "Cat Shi" does exist in The Cat Shi (ねこざね) in Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture.
The story begins with the protagonist (at the beginning of the series) Moriri Hotaru, a cat practical college student, making a wrong phone call to 'My Goddess Office'.
Hotaru is horrified to find out that he has made a wrong call, and the phone first says "I'll come right now", and then a goddess calling herself Belodanti appears in the mirror. Bellu Danti asks Hotaru what she wishes, and Hotaru says, "I hope a goddess like you can always stay by my side." This wish was granted by the Heavenly Realm. Since then, Hotaru has lived with Belludanti.
Although Hotaru thinks that he made the wrong phone number, this is not the case, but the function of the World Tree is inevitable in order to redeem Hotaru.
