Many of the characters in One Piece refer to historical figures, and some refer to the faces of celebrities, and the following characters are typical cases:

1. Yamaji – Steve Bussimi

According to Oda in the monograph, Yamaji is based on the 1992 film "Falling Dogs" directed by the famous director Quentin Tarantino, in which one of the characters is called Mr. Powder. The character is played by Steve Bussimi, and it's clear that Yamaji's hairstyle and suit came from him.

2.Red Dog-Bunta Sugawara

Aka inu is based on the Japanese actor Suga Bunta, a veteran of Japanese acting, best known for his 1973 film Battle of No Mercy. Suga's image in this movie is too classic, so both Naruto and One Piece designed characters based on him, with Bunta toad in Naruto and Red Dog in One Piece.

3. Yellow Ape - Kuniyoshi Tanaka

Among the three generals two years ago, the strangest looking was the yellow ape. In fact, Huang Ape also refers to a Japanese actor named Tanaka Kuni, who played a villain in "The Hunt" in 1976, a role that even the older generation of Chinese audiences are impressed by and very popular in Japan.

The pheasant's face refers to the Japanese movie star Yusaku Matsuda, Who is younger than the above two actors, and Oda not only refers to his looks, but also reflects the age gap between him and the other two actors in One Piece. One Piece Rikyo and Yellow Ape are peers, and Pheasant joined the Navy later and was younger.

5. Capone Becky – Al Capone

Capone Becky has a gangster boss in One Piece, which comes from his character archetype, Al Capone. Al Capone, the most influential American mafia of the 1920s and 1930s, came from Italy but rose to fame in Chicago, usa, and at his peak controlled almost black and white, but eventually died of syphilis.

6. Boni - Tsone Naezuko

There are many big stomach kings in One Piece, and there is only one female big stomach king, which is Joe Ellie Penny, one of the supernovae. Her prototype is the queen of the Japanese big stomach king realm, Tsone Naezuko, known as the hot girl Tsange, who broke through in the male-dominated big stomach king world and is famous throughout Japan.

7. Hawkins – Joey Jordison
