Li Ying, Deputy Mayor, Deputy Director and Secretary General of the Municipal Executive Committee, attended the award ceremony and presented medals to the winners and winning teams of the just-concluded Special Olympics Table Tennis Tournament and Special Olympics Basketball Tournament.
The Shaanxi Second Regiment, composed of the host Baoji, shined at the Special Olympics, and 29 Special Olympics athletes fought hard in athletics, basketball and roller skating, winning gold and silver, and achieved a total of 15 gold, 9 silver and 3 bronze excellent results, fully demonstrating the sunshine, unity and cooperation of disabled athletes in our city.
Among them, the Shaanxi Second Regiment Athletics Team, which was formed by the students of Meixian Special Education School, participated in softball throwing, standing long jump, running and other sports competitions, and won 6 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze.
The Shaanxi Second Regiment Basketball Team, jointly organized by Chencang District Special Education School and Meixian Special Education School, participated in the basketball men's five-a-side, women's three-a-side and individual skills competitions, the men's second team won the second place in the h group, the women's second group won the gold medal in the d group, and the basketball individual skills project won 3 gold and 1 silver.
The Shaanxi Second Regiment Roller Skating Team, composed of Baoji Special Education School, participated in the 12-15 year old group obstacle course, straight line and curve speed skating competition, and achieved a good result of 5 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze.
On the 6-day competition day of the Special Olympics, the Shaanxi Second Regiment team composed of students from various special education schools in Baoji achieved a total of 15 gold, 9 silver and 3 bronze outstanding results, showing the sunshine of disabled athletes in our city, unity and cooperation.
