The new game created by Mafia 3 developer Hanger 13 has been canceled by Take Two's 2k games. The game was developed code-named volt, dubbed "Cthulhu + Sopranos", and has been in development since 2017.
Insiders familiar with take two's decision told Bloomberg that development of the game has been terminated. Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier revealed that "Volt" is a new IP, and pointed out that Hangar13 is developing "Mafia 4" is fake news, Hangar 13 is only a preliminary attempt between 2016-2017, but there is no follow-up.
According to previous leaks, Volt is known as an open-world sci-fi game with supernatural elements, "Cthulhu + Sopranos"
In Take Two's second-quarter earnings report, the company said that "the company decided not to continue developing an undisclosed game, for which it recorded a $53 million impairment charge," but did not disclose further details of the project. There is widespread speculation that the game may be "Bully Rooney 2".
