Nanjing, 29 Jan (Xinhua) -- The Jiangsu Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reported on 29 January that China has intercepted for the first time the white hair cone tail tapping nails of harmful organisms on the shore of the port of Lianyun, Jiangsu Province. This organism can aggravate the aging of trees and seedlings, endangering the safety of agriculture and forestry.
The Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, recently intercepted a number of pests such as white hair cone tail tapping, beet leaf borer, chisel valley thief, and ant family during the inspection of a batch of oak logs imported from France. Among them, the white hair cone tail tapping nail was identified by the laboratory of Jiangsu Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, and finally confirmed to be the first interception in the country.
The white-haired cone-tailed percussion is a completely metamorphosed insect that mostly lives under dead branches and bark. The organism eats plant branches and nutrients, which will aggravate the aging of trees and seedlings, accelerate plant death, and endanger the safety of agriculture and forestry.
