Zhengzhou, November 2 (Reporter Han Zhangyun) On November 2, the weather in Zhengzhou was slightly cold, but the hematopoietic stem cell collection room of Henan Provincial Cancer Hospital was warm and melting, accompanied by relatives and friends, Ding Ling, a judicial police officer of the Linzhou Municipal People's Court, donated hematopoietic stem cells here. She waited 15 years for this day. Her donation of "Seeds of Life" will save the life of a patient she never knew.

Ding Ling, 37, is a grassroots court bailiff who grew up in a loving, clean-up family. Under the influence of good family style, Ding Ling's heart yearns for justice and is also willing to dedicate love.

Joining the Chinese Bone Marrow Bank, Ding Ling said it was a coincidence. "One day in May 2006, when I was passing by Hongqiqu Square in Linzhou City, I saw the publicity about donating hematopoietic stem cells, and through the explanations of the staff, I learned that there are still many blood disease patients who suffer from pain because they cannot get matched hematopoietic stem cells."

Ding Ling recalled that the staff's words touched her heart, and she decided that through her own modest efforts, she could have the opportunity to save a person's life, and even a family on the verge of rupture. So she filled out a donation volunteer form and left a blood sample of herself.

But Ding Ling did not expect that the realization of the wish to save people would have to go through a long wait, and the first wait was 15 years. In August, Ding Ling received a call from the Red Cross telling her whether a patient who had successfully matched her would be willing to donate hematopoietic stem cells. "I didn't hesitate at the time and said 'I do,' and I waited 15 years for this day."

In the early stage of high-resolution testing and comprehensive physical examination, Ding Ling did not tell her family and colleagues, but quietly went to Anyang alone to do various examinations, and adjusted her physical state in strict accordance with the requirements of the hospital, and after fully meeting the conditions for donating hematopoietic stem cells in all aspects, she solemnly signed her name on the donation notice.

When the donation date was determined, Ding Ling told her family and colleagues about the matter, and also got the support of her family and leading colleagues. My son, who was in elementary school, said to her, "Mom, we all support you, and I am proud to have such a brave and kind mother as you!" ”

The Linzhou Municipal People's Court, Ding Ling's unit, also helped her eliminate her worries, and called on all cadres and police officers in the hospital to learn from Ding Ling, support public welfare, dedicate love, and let the flame of love be passed on.

In Ding Ling's own view, she had only done a trivial thing, of course, she was also lucky and proud that she could save a person's life with her own efforts. "It is said that the probability of people without blood relations being able to match successfully is one in ten thousand, or even more than one in 100,000, and it is my luck that I can successfully match and save people, and I am duty-bound to save people." Ding Ling said that she also hopes that through this donation, more people will understand the significance of donating hematopoietic stem cells, join the team of hematopoietic stem cell volunteers, and bring hope to more patients.

According to statistics from the Red Cross Society of Henan Province, Ding Ling is the first non-blood hematopoietic stem cell donor volunteer in Linzhou City and the 1040th in Henan Province. (End)
