With City's derby with Manchester United in focus next weekend, Ruben Dias is determined to "recover" from the shock of City's loss to Crystal Palace.
On Saturday, Guardiola's 200th Premier League game was ruined by Crystal Palace, with Zaha becoming the first player of the season to score at the Etihad Stadium.
Earlier goals were overshadowed by a red card from Laporte, who dragged down palace striker late in the first half before Gabriel Jesus' equaliser was ruled out and Connor Gallagher won an unexpected 2-0 victory.
Manchester City defender Díaz said: "In the Premier League, it's a tough game.
"Whether it's home or away, no matter who the opponent is, obviously we know who the opponent is. We are not in the best shape today.
"Even so, the team is still fighting, the team has given everything, but today it was not enough. When things don't go well, everything is lost.
"The whole team was there. Obviously, we made mistakes and let us lose three points, but the team was there and we dominated the game.
"In the end, we may not have created all the chances, but we did have a chance, the key is to score. We're missing goals, we're missing goals.
'We kept trying, their teams were all in their own penalty area, everybody was there, we tried hard but we didn't score and then we were sent off with a red card and obviously the second half was a very tough task.'
'The spirit of the team is strong and I think that's the biggest positive factor since today.
In the two games ahead of international matches, this will be the key for Manchester City.
Clubs Bruges should worry about people's reactions when they travel to the Etihad Stadium for the Champions League group stage on Wednesday before turning their attention to Saturday's game.
United beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at the weekend, but Liverpool scored five goals at Old Trafford with no response and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was desperate for victory.
"Our reaction was that we have one more game in three days and we are already thinking about it," Díaz added.
"Today we obviously lost the 3 points that were very important to us, but that's football.
"Of course we're not happy, but we've started looking ahead. You will cheer up as always. Keep looking forward, keep doing what you do, keep improving, that's our mindset, that's the only way. ”
As City searched for a response, the palace hoped to secure victory over Wolves ahead of the international match.
Saturday was the Hawks' second league win of the season and his best performance since Patrick Vieira took the helm, with Zaha excelling in the first half and leading the team to a cheerful dance.
He said, "It's just embarrassing them, not letting them play."
"We know how good they are, but today we don't let them play and let them know what we can do. That's what we do.
"I think we're a threat when we're moving forward, but the difference you see now is that we have possession of the ball at the back. We leave the ball on the pitch and we create chances.
"We're using our talent up front and on the pitch right now."
