Berbatov: Conte can breathe new life into Harry Kane

Harry Kane has had a slow start to the season, having scored just one goal in nine games so far, but Berbatov believes Conte could breathe new life into the troubled striker.

"There's a little bit of a problem with the way Kane plays, but it also depends on the overall performance of the team because he relies on the people around him," Berbatov told Betfair. "Conte with a new idea could be good for Kane."

Lukaku's season with Conte at Inter was his most prolific, scoring 24 goals and 11 assists in 20/21 to lead the team to a Serie A title.

Berbatov thinks Conte can do the same thing with Kane and turn his season around.

"During his time at Inter, Conte made Lukaku a better player. After moving from Manchester United to Inter, his confidence began to decline and then he was reborn as a goal machine. So you can easily say that Conte is good for Kane.

"Italians have worked with great players, winners, conceited people and players who want others to hear their opinions, but it's difficult to work with players like that unless you know how to deal with them and talk to them.

"It's very important for a striker to have the trust of the coach. If Kane finds out they're with Conte and they trust each other, Kane will play well and score goals.

"When managers trust you, you have to do everything you can not let them down."

I'm sure Conte's arrival will definitely put Spurs back in the top four of the table!
