On the morning of November 2, the opening ceremony of the 2021 Fujian National Lifelong Learning Activity Week was held in Zhangzhou, which is the 16th National Lifelong Learning Activity Week in Fujian Province since the promulgation and implementation of the "Fujian Lifelong Education Promotion Regulations".
More than 200 people attended the opening ceremony, including the General Office of the Provincial Party Committee, the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Bureau of Veteran Cadres of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial Department of Education, and other 13 provincial lifelong education promotion committee members and specially invited units, as well as leaders of municipal and (county) education bureaus, representatives of undergraduate colleges, vocational colleges, and lifelong education institutions, as well as representatives of the provincial "People's Learning Star" and "Lifelong Learning Brand Project", and representatives of teachers and students of Zhangzhou Open University. More than 100 units such as community universities, universities for the elderly, community colleges, community schools (learning centers) and some colleges and universities and provincial secondary vocational schools in the province set up sub-venues to watch intensively, and the number of online and offline participants reached more than 15,000.
It is understood that in recent years, the Zhangzhou Municipal Party Committee and the Zhangzhou Municipal Government have taken Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guide, fully implemented the party's education policy, taken the construction of a lifelong learning system serving the whole people and the construction of a learning society as the goal of struggle, conscientiously implemented the national and provincial lifelong education promotion regulations, innovated community education and education for the elderly from the aspects of institutional mechanisms, system construction, team building, brand building, resource construction, etc., and built a city, county, township and village four-level community education organization. Community colleges, community schools and community teaching points have been set up throughout the city to organize and carry out community education and education for the elderly in depth, and good results have been achieved. In particular, Zhangzhou Open University actively carries out excellent traditional culture into the community, builds an "intangible cultural heritage" study base and a patriotic education base, and explores the formation of a "Zhangzhou model" of community education; the Danxia Reading Club of Zhangzhou Open University is a demonstration point for the whole people of the province to read in the community, and has made important contributions to the lifelong learning of the whole people in the city.

At the opening ceremony, provincial and municipal leaders issued certificates to the units and individuals who were awarded the "Lifelong Learning Brand Project" and "People's Learning Star" in Fujian Province, and Yu Jie, the person in charge of the "Recreation Academy" project of Gulou Community College, and Zhang Jiaxing, representative of the "People's Learning Star" of Fujian Province, made typical speeches respectively.
In order to strengthen the high-quality development of lifelong education informatization and promote the deep-level and systematic all-round reform of the lifelong education system, a training seminar on the high-quality development of digitalization and lifelong education in 2021 was also held in the afternoon.
