After being acquired by Disney, the new logo of Searchlight Pictures got rid of its association with "Fox". For nearly 30 years, the original "Fox Searchlight Pictures" logo has been the opening of many critically acclaimed films, including Birdman, Jojo's Whimsical World, and Napoleon the Big Man. "French Pie" was one of the first films by searchlight companies to show the new logo, marking the company's break with the original logo
Founded in 1994, Fox Searchlight Pictures is an independent Film Production and Distribution Company in the United States that focuses on making low-budget niche films, with most of the film budgets under $20 million. But these films are not acclaimed, they prove that independent films can also win hundreds of millions of dollars at the North American market while chasing the Oscar for Best Picture, such as "Black Swan", "Juno" and "Slumdog Millionaire". Juno was also the highest-grossing Fox Searchlight film, at $143 million.
The company's other representative works include "Life with a Glass of Wine", "Little Miss Sunshine" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel".
In 2019, Disney completed its acquisition of 21st Century Fox, acquiring most of the company's entertainment assets, including 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight Films. In January 2020, Fox Searchlight Pictures changed its name to Searchlight Pictures.
